5 star ratingI had a great experience, we met with project manager "Tommy" he was super friendly, he informed use what was needed in detail bc we had such an outdated furnace (30 years old) , our first meeting was about an hour, he did not pressure us, we still had a few more estimates.
From the first day , Tommy was on top of every level of the project. The crew came on time, they were all polite, the lead man answered all our questions, they worked all day until job was completed, it was a big job. The job was done two days ahead of time!
There was follow up and Tommy was always there. Overall we had a great experience and would highly recommend.
Now we are cozy and enjoying the cold weather, thanks to you!

FAQs from Your Trusted Heating Contractor

How do I choose the right kind of heating system for my home?

When it’s time to pick a new heater for your home, careful consideration of key factors and features is crucial. The choices you make will impact your comfort and home energy efficiency. To assist you with this decision, we’ve created a guide to simplify the process.

Think about these factors when you begin the process of shopping for a heater:

Energy Efficiency – Keep long-term costs in check by choosing a high-efficiency heater if energy savings are a priority for you.

Climate – Account for your local climate when searching for a heater. Make sure your system is tailored to fit the specific weather patterns in your area.

Fuel Type – Keep in mind the local fuel costs and accessibility in your region when selecting a heater. Opt for a model that runs on easily accessible fuel.

Lifestyle – Reflect on your daily routine and prioritize aspects that matter most to you. Look for a heater that aligns with your expectations in terms of convenience, user-friendliness, technological advancements (such as programmable timers, smart thermostats, or remote control options), noise levels, safety features (especially if you have kids or pets), and other essential factors.

Size of Your Home – Ensuring your heater’s capacity aligns with your home’s size is crucial for efficient heating.

Budget – Your budget is a key consideration, and we’re here to guide you toward a heating solution that not only meets your needs, but also aligns with your financial goals.

Now that you have this insight, let’s explore the various heater types. Getting acquainted with these options will equip you to make an informed choice, as each type presents its specific considerations and advantages.

Electric Furnaces

Typical Lifespan – With proper maintenance, these furnaces can reliably last 20 years or more.

Installation Cost Comparison – Embrace an economical solution with installation costs often lower, especially for properties without access to natural gas.

Energy Efficiency – Electric furnaces stand out for their remarkable energy efficiency, efficiently transforming nearly all the energy they consume into heat. However, it’s important to note that their efficiency is tied to the source of electricity and its renewability.

Maintenance Requirements – Electric furnaces require less maintenance compared to their counterparts due to their simplified design with fewer moving parts.

Fuel Source – Experience the sustainable opportunity of electric furnaces. They don’t rely on fuel and are instead powered by electricity, which might come from sources like solar energy or wind.

Gas Furnaces

Typical Lifespan – Demonstrating impressive longevity, well-maintained gas furnaces often operate efficiently for 15 to 20 years.

Installation Cost Comparison – Initial installation expenses for gas furnaces are generally more economical than alternative options, especially in areas where natural gas is easily accessible.

Energy Efficiency – The latest furnace models excel in energy efficiency, though some older gas furnaces may have lower EFUE ratings.

Maintenance Requirements – Gas furnaces typically demand less maintenance compared to alternative heating systems, with some modern models even boasting self-diagnostic controls for added convenience.

Fuel Source – These heating systems are designed to run efficiently on natural gas, a cost-effective and widely available source of fuel.

What are furnace efficiency ratings and what makes this information important?

Embarking on the journey of choosing a new heating system or wanting to demystify your current one? Unpacking the details of furnace efficiency ratings is essential, as they play a direct role in energy consumption and cost. Southwest HVAC values transparency and education, aiming to provide you with valuable information.

Some of the most popular home heater ratings include:

AFUE (Annual Fuel Utilization Efficiency)

The AFUE rating is pivotal for evaluating the efficiency of boilers and furnaces, as it reflects the percentage of fuel converted into heat. Opting for a higher AFUE leads to improved efficiency.

HSPF (Heating Seasonal Performance Factor)

The HSPF rating assesses how effectively heat pumps operate when heating your space. Opting for a higher HSPF translates to superior heating efficiency from your heat pump.

SEER (Seasonal Energy Efficiency Ratio)

When it comes to heat pumps and air conditioners, the SEER rating is pivotal because it reflects efficiency levels. Opting for a higher SEER translates to decreased operational expenses and improved energy efficiency.

We understand that interpreting these ratings might feel overwhelming initially, but our knowledgeable professionals are available to assist you throughout the process. We’ll collaborate with you to evaluate each rating based on your home’s specific needs, considering factors such as your heating preferences, insulation quality, local climate conditions, and more. With a comprehensive understanding of these ratings and their implications, you’ll be able to make informed choices to ensure that your heating system operates efficiently, conserves energy, and saves you money over time.
